A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found unconscious near the River Taff in Cardiff.
Emergency services were called to Pontcanna Fields on Friday (May 15), with reports of a large police presence near to Western Avenue.
A police spokeswoman said that they were responding to reports of an unconscious man on the banks of the river.
She said: "The man was taken to University Hospital of Wales where his condition is described as critically ill."
The spokeswoman added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
The Welsh Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a H.A.R.T team to the scene after the alarm was raised around 5.30pm.
