Missing man 'assaulted and forced into car' now found safe, police say

Adelaide man Malcolm Walker has been found safe and well, but police say they will continue to investigate reports he was attacked and then abducted.

Family of the 25-year-old man held concerns for his welfare after an incident at Elizabeth Downs in Adelaide's north on Sunday night.

Police said witnesses saw a man matching Mr Walker's description assaulted before being forced into a car about 6:30pm.

"We do have some concerns, along with his family, for the welfare of Malcolm," Senior Constable Dave Muir said earlier today.

Police also released a statement saying that the incident did not appear to be random.

This morning, police provided an update that Mr Walker had "been found safe and well".

"Investigations are continuing in relation to him being assaulted and forced into a car at Elizabeth Downs," they said.

A family member earlier posted on Facebook: "Please be okay bro, we need you to be okay".
