Man fatally shot in West Garfield Park

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday in West Garfield Park on the West Side.

About 2:50 a.m. he was in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Street, when he was shot in the back, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet released his name.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
