A man was fatally shot Monday afternoon in West Garfield Park.
The victim was walking down the street in the 500 block of South Kostner when he was shot about 2:20 p.m., police said.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body, including his head, according to police. He was found unresponsive on the sidewalk and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
