A man was shot to death Tuesday in West Englewood on the South Side.

About 9:30 p.m. the 30 to 35-year-old was in the 6200 block of South Claremont Avenue when someone in a silver-colored SUV fired shots, Chicago police said.

The man was hit in the back of the head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t identified him, but autopsy results Wednesday found he died of a gunshot wound to the head and ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
