A man was fatally shot in the hallway of his apartment Friday in Woodlawn on the Far South Side.
The victim, 31, was shot in the chest just before 10 p.m. in the 1700 block of East 67th Street, Chicago Police said.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he later died, police said.
No one was in custody.
Two days earlier, a woman was shot and killed in an apartment about two miles south in South Shore.
The woman, 42, was shot in the chest just before 6:35 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Constance Avenue, police said.
She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 7 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Her name hasn’t been released.
