Man fatally shot in South Shore: police

A man was found fatally shot Thursday in South Shore on the South Side.

The man, believed to be between 18 and 20-years-old, was found about 8:30 a.m., laying in the mouth of an alley in the 7300 block of South Phillips Avenue, with a gunshot wound to the back of his head, Chicago police said.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
