A man was killed on the Fourth of July in a shooting in west suburban Maywood.
John Garza, 35, was outside a family member’s home about 11:30 p.m. Thursday near North 6th Avenue and Lake Street when someone drove by and opened fire, according to Maywood police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Garza was shot three times and taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he died a few hours later, authorities said.
No one was in custody Saturday as Maywood detectives investigate.
