Man fatally shot in Lawndale

A man was killed in a shooting Monday in Lawndale on the West Side, police said.

Officers heard gunfire about 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Kedzie Avenue and found the 26-year-old unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
