A man was shot to death Friday in unincorporated Gurnee in the north suburbs.
The man, 21, was found shot about 9:50 p.m. in the 36900 block of North Grandwood Drive, the Lake County sheriff’s office said. He was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators found the man met someone on the street near his home before he was shot, the sheriff’s office said. They believe the man knew the shooter.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.
