Man fatally shot in Gary

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot April 8, 2020, in the 1900 block of Carolina Street in Gary, IN. | Gary police Facebook photo

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday in Gary.

About 7:55 p.m., Khalil Parker Sr. was in the 1900 block of Carolina Street when he was shot, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Gary police were not available for comment Wednesday night.
