The 54-year-old was shot in the back about 8:20 p.m. while driving in the 6200 block of South Racine Avenue, Chicago police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not identified the man.

It was the fifth shooting in Englewood or West Englewood since 7 p.m. Friday. A 40-year-old man was killed about 3:05 p.m. Saturday in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue, and another man, 48, was critically wounded in a shooting about two hours later in the 6800 block of South Perry Avenue.

Early Saturday morning, a 68-year-old man was shot through the door of a home in the 6800 block of South Winchester Avenue. On Friday evening, a 32-year-old man was shot in the 6500 block of South Halsted Street. Both men are in good condition.
