Man fatally shot in Englewood: police

A man was killed in a shooting May 29, 2020, in Englewood. | Sun-Times file photo

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Friday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

He was on the sidewalk about 7:08 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 70th Street when someone in a vehicle shot him in the chest and side, Chicago police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about the death.

No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
