A woman has been injured after a man “fell from a height” at Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, the Metropolitan police have said.

Scotland Yard confirmed that emergency services were called to the shopping centre at about 4pm.

Photos of the incident posted on social media showed emergency services personnel treating two people on the floor of the shopping centre. The Met later said both remained in hospital but their conditions are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesman said: “Police were called … to reports of a man fallen from a height and a woman injured at Westfield shopping centre, Stratford. Officers and the London ambulance service are in attendance … Inquiries continue.”

The London ambulance service said the pair were taken to hospital as a priority.
