A man is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from the third floor window of a block of flats in Stockport.

Police confirmed that the male fell from the window after officers forced entry to the address, on Lancashire Hill, on Saturday afternoon (May 1).

The incident has been referred to the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the injured man fell from a window following reports to officers of ‘concern for the welfare’ on Saturday afternoon (May 1).

Emergency crews attended an address on Lancashire Hill, Heaton Norris, at around 1.30pm.

Officers forced entry to the address and a male fell from a third floor window, GMP said.

He was treated for injuries at the scene and was taken to hospital where he remains in a ‘serious but stable condition’.
