Man taken to hospital after falling from scaffolding in Glasgow city centre

A man has been taken to hospital after falling from scaffolding in Glasgow today.

Officers from Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service raced to St Vincent Lane shortly before 8am after reports a man had fallen.

The area was cordoned off by police as ambulances arrived on the scene.

As a result Wellington Street was closed between St Vincent Street and Bothwell Street while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police confirmed a 33-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

His condition is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Daily Record: "At 7.45am this morning officers were called to reports of as man falling from scaffolding in St Vincent Lane in Glasgow city centre.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene."
