A man has fallen from the roof of a multi-storey car park close to a busy shopping centre.
Emergency services were called to Salisbury Street, in Birkenhead, shortly before 2.30pm on Monday after witnesses reported the incident.
Police officers and paramedics are still at the scene near the Pyramids Shopping Centre and a large cordon has been put in place.
Shoppers told the ECHO they had seen the man fall before ambulance workers rushed to help him but the man's condition is not yet clear.
Road closures are in place in the area and people are being asked to stay away if possible.
There is currently no access to Salisbury Street from Whetstone Lane, Borough Road or Horatio Street.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm we are currently dealing with an incident in Birkenhead.
"We were contacted at 2.25pm today, Monday 24 th August, following reports that a male had fallen from the roof of a multi-storey car park on Salisbury Street.
