Man falls from city tower block

A man fell from a city tower block this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to Candia Towers on Jason Street in Everton after reports of the incident at about 2.25pm.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said the incident was not confirmed as a fatality, but the exact nature of the man's injuries are currently unknown.

A number of roads surrounding the tower block were cordoned off by police including Netherfield Road and Mark Street.

The situation remains ongoing.

Some people and residents trying to enter the flats were not allowed to by police officers.
