A man faces weapons charges after allegedly firing shots and barricading himself from Evanston police earlier last week.

Frederick B. Davis, 62, was charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a weapon and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, according to Evanston police.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired about noon Nov. 10 in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue, Commander Ryan Glew said.

When they arrived at the scene, they learned Davis had allegedly fired shots at someone and then retreated into his residence, Glew said.

About two hours later, Davis was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported.
