A man is accused of driving drunk and causing an accident that killed a man and seriously injured another person Tuesday on the Dan Ryan Expressway near Englewood.

Delaneo Jackson was arrested Thursday after crashing into a gray Nissan Altima, killing a 28-year-old man and injuring another person near 63rd Street, Illinois State Police said.

Jackson, 39, was driving south in the express lanes in a silver Lexus when he rear-ended the Nissan, state police said.

A 28-year-old man sitting in the backseat of the Nissan was transported to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, state police said. The driver was also taken to a hospital, where his condition was serious.

Jackson and his passenger were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injures, police said.

Jackson was charged with aggravated driving under the influence involving death and aggravated DUI great bodily harm, according to police.
