Man faces court after allegedly sending death threats to Senator

A man has appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court charged with allegedly threatening to kill a member of the Australian Senate.

Police arrested Brunswick West man Koshin Ibrahim on Friday morning at his house, seizing his electronic devices.

Police allege he made online threats to kill a member of the Australian senate on social media in September and October of this year.

He was charged with two counts of using a carriage service to make a threat to kill and use of a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

Mr Ibrahim was granted bail and will return to court in December.
