A man faced court on Wednesday after police allegedly found him in possession of $80,000 cash, a taser and a small amount of drugs.
James Joseph Francer, 39, faced Newcastle Local Court charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited weapon, dealing in the proceeds of crime and 22 counts of supplying a prohibited drug.
Police attached to Strike Force Chufa, which had been investigating the supply of methylamphetamine in the Newcastle area since November, spoke with Mr Francer at an apartment on King Street, Newcastle, before they searched his vehicle.

There, investigators allegedly found a small quantity of methylamphetamine, an electric stun gun and more than $80,000 cash.
Police arrested Mr Francer and charged him.
He did not apply for bail - and it was formally refused - when he faced court on Wednesday.
Magistrate Robert Stone adjourned the matter to April 9.
