A man has been extradited to the Gold Coast to face charges relating to the death of two men more than a year ago.

The investigation began when 47-year-old Cameron Martin was found dead in his white Mercedes Benz on the Gold Coast in October 2019.

The vehicle had crashed into a tree off Tallebudgera Creek Road and police believe Mr Martin sustained a puncture wound to his chest shortly before the crash.

The body of a second man, 36-year-old Shane Ross, was found in bushland on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Tallebudgera Creek Road.

Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said it was a complex and difficult investigation.

"We will continue to investigate to ensure all of those involved in these murders are arrested and brought before the courts," he said.

The 32-year-old man was charged with two counts of murder (serious organised crime) and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He will face the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
