Man escapes crash which left car on its side down country lane in Nottinghamshire

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called after a car left the road and flipped over. The crash happened on Thursday, March 31, just after 8pm.

Pictures taken from the scene show the car on its side in shrubbery at the side of the road. One man had already escaped from the vehicle before fire crews from East Leake Fire Station arrived, firefighters said.

They then made the vehicle safe before handing over to police and ambulance crews, who were also called after the collision. East Leake Fire Station said in a statement on Facebook: "Road traffic collision - one car left carriageway. One male extricated himself before arrival of service. East Leake made vehicle safe and handed over to East Midlands ambulance service and Police."
