Man enjoying a nice pint at the airport before his holiday to Greece is arrested before it can start

A man's holiday to Greece came to an abrupt end after he was arrested while enjoying a pint in an airport check-in lounge.

The 26-year-old man checked into Manchester Airport on May 27 and was waiting to start a 10-day holiday in Greece when police were notified of his whereabouts. While enjoying a pint before his easyJet flight, the man was arrested and taken to Preston where he will be questioned. Lancs Live reported that Chorley police were notified of his presence at the airport before the neighbourhood task force and Greater Manchester Police attended the airport where they found the man returning from the toilet to finish his pint.

Sergeant Paul Harrison, of the Chorley and South Ribble Taskforce explained: "Today a 26-year-old male who had checked in at Manchester Airport ready for 10 days in the sun on an easyJet flight to Greece. The male was excited. Had picked up his passport the day before and was ready for a last minute extravaganza. You can get more UK news and other story updates by subscribing to our newsletters here.
