Man due in court over allegations of spitting at police officers in Worksop

A man is due to appear in court in connection with an allegation he spat in the faces of police officers in Worksop.

Daniel Hagarty, 32, of Edinburgh Walk, Worksop, is charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The charges come after it was alleged that two officers were spat at after responding to an incident in Edinburgh Walk, Worksop, on April 19.

Detective Superintendent Kevin Broadhead, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We will be robust in our response if we encounter this type of unacceptable behaviour.

"It will not be tolerated and offenders will be brought before the courts to face justice.”

Hagerty has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 21.
