A man has been charged following the death of a dad in his home in Greenock.

The 27-year-old died at the scene at 9.15pm on September 26, sparking a major police investigation.

Police confirmed the arrest this morning, just days after Christopher's mum Karen Nicol spoke of the family's heartache his death.

She said: "The children doted on him and he doted on them.

"He used to say he was lost between a Monday and Friday without the kids.

"He had them all during the school holidays and took them to safari parks, trips to the seaside, down to Largs.

"It wasn't just money he was spending on them, he enjoyed being with them."

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
