Man due in court in connection with 2006 murder of Gerry Nolan in Castlecomer, Kilkenny

A man is due to appear before court in Carlow this morning over the murder of Gerry Nolan in 2006.

The man, aged in his 30s, will appear before Carlow District Court on charges related to Nolan's death in Kilkenny nearly 14 years ago.

Mr. Nolan died following a fire at his caravan home in Deerpark, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny on July 24, 2006.

His death was fully investigated and five people were arrested but no charges were made.

However following a review of the case in 2014, a murder investigation was launched.

Gardai previously arrested two men, aged 27 and 30 years, in connection with the investigation into the murder of Gerry Nolan.

The men were arrested in Dublin back in 2016.
