A man is due in court in Co Mayo after €250,000 of cannabis was seized in Claremorris on Wednesday.
Gardaí from the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by Claremorris Community Engagement Team and the Armed Support Unit, discovered the drugs at an industrial premises in Claremorris town.
The unit was converted into a growhouse for large scale production.
Officers seized over 300 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of approximately €250,000 (pending analysis).
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
He will appear before Castlebar District Court at 10.30am on Thursday.
Community Engagement Superintendent Gabriel Moran said, "The impact of drugs on families and the cost of paying to support a drugs habit feeds into crime levels and fear in families in the county.”
