A man is to appear in court accused of carrying an axe in an East Kilbride street.
Lanarkshire Live understands there was a large police presence in Pembroke, Calderwood in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police have today confirmed that a 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a bladed article, namely an axe, in the East Kilbride street at around 12.40am on May 20.
The accused is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court later today.
A police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old male was arrested and is attending court today."
