A man caught driving a stolen van has been arrested in connection with a serious assault.
Officers from South Wales Police arrested the driver and then ran checks on the vehicle which revealed that it had been stolen from the Gwent area in September.
Police recovered the vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said in a statement on Twitter early on Friday morning: “Inc 55 Driver of this vehicle stopped by #Team2West overnight and #arrested for a serious assault.
“Checks on the van reveal it was #stolen back in September from the @gwentpolice area.
“Male in custody, van recovered.”
