Man dressed as Batman seen 'acting suspiciously' in wooded area

A man dressed as Batman has been reported for hiding in bushes and jumping out on passers by.

Police said the have 'had a word' with a man after receiving complaints from members of the public who said they were victims of a man pretending to be the caped crusader.

A man dressed as Batman "acting suspiciously" have been reported to police in Warrington on several occasions.

The man is said to hide in bushes before jumping out on unsuspecting passers by.

Cheshire Police said they had received reports that the man being spotted in Birchwood, Risley Moss and Forest Park areas.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police posted on the Birchwood Police Facebook page: "As the Police, we respond to a wide variety of incidents and no two days are the same.

"However, it's not often that we receive reports of Batman loitering in Birchwood.

"We received reports of a male dressed as Batman acting suspiciously on Risley Moss and Forest Park.

"It was suggested that the male was hiding in bushes and jumping out at passers by.

"Batman has been spoken to and given words of advice. No other DC characters are believed to be involved."

Following the post, people began commenting on their own brushes with a man dressed as Batman.

Others shared their opinions about the man's actions - and while some joked about the nature of the incidents, others said they were just plain scary.

One woman joked: "He was only looking after the residents of Birchwood!!!"

While another woman commented: "So not funny scaring people and children...something very weird about it."
