A man was reportedly "dragged" from a house after police kicked in a door on a Wirral street.
An eyewitness said they saw about six police cars on Lees Avenue in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, on Wednesday night around 10pm.
With other people living close to the road reporting a police helicopter in the area, the eyewitness said: "Police just dragged a fella out of a house on Lees Avenue in Rock Ferry.

"There were about six police cars and they kicked the door in to get to him."
Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO they had chased a man to Lees Avenue last night following reports of a stolen motorbike.
A spokesperson said: "We have arrested a 29-year-old man from Rock Ferry after a report of a domestic assault on Lees Avenue in Wirral yesterday (Wednesday, November 3).
"Officers were called to a report of a stolen motorcycle on Grange Road in Birkenhead, spotted the offender and after a short pursuit detained the man at house on Lees Avenue just before 9.50pm.
"It was further reported the suspect had assaulted a woman inside the premises."
A man was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, Section 47 assault, drug driving and aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle, and taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives where he remains in custody.
The spokesperson added: "The incident is being treated as domestic-related and detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing and safeguarding procedures are being carried out by specialist officers."
Detective Inspector Nick Glascott-Tull said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing and I would continue to ask anyone with information which could assist our investigation to contact us.
"We take the issue of domestic abuse very seriously and will continue to work alongside our partners to identify the best way to tackle it.
"I would encourage anyone who is experiencing domestic abuse to have the courage to report it to us and we will support you in every way we can.
