Man dragged from car in early morning hijacking, police say

Police are investigating the report of a vehicle hijacking during the early hours of this morning in Coalisland.

It is reported that at 2am, as the male driver of a black BMW was on the Reenaderry Road, the driver of white van pulled in front of him and then came to a stop, blocking the road.

Detective Sergeant Robinson said: "A male exited the vehicle, approached the BMW and ordered the driver to get out. He then pulled him out of the car and drove off in the BMW.

"The suspect is described as being of a stocky build and aged between 30 and 35 years old and wore dark/grey-coloured clothing.

"Our enquiries are continuing, and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in this area and saw what happened, or who can assist in the whereabouts of the BMW - registration CXZ 1862 - to contact us in 101, quoting reference number 149 of 04/05/20, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
