Man discharged from hospital after police incident in Pillgwenlly

A man who sustained injuries in a police incident in Pillgwenlly has been released from hospital.

Gwent Police has appealed for information following an incident that took place outside the Pill Millennium Centre, in Newport, on Thursday afternoon.

The force said between about 3pm and 3.30pm, a 28-year-old man sustained injuries to his head, chest and back. His condition was described as not life threatening.

He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for medical treatment.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said the man was discharged from hospital on Wednesday evening.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries into the incident.
