A 31-year-old man died Monday, weeks after he was shot inside a parked vehicle in the Englewood neighborhood.

William Richardson was shot Jan. 21 in the 1900 block of West 65th Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said someone in a passing gray SUV fired shots into a vehicle about 4 a.m., striking Richardson and another man. Both men were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

Richardson died at the hospital Monday. Autopsy results released Tuesday revealed he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said no one was in custody in connection to the homicide.
