A man who was hit by a car last week in Lake View on the North Side has died from his injuries.

The 65-year-old was pronounced dead Nov. 23 at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was struck Nov. 17 by a male driving a Toyota about 2:40 a.m. at Irving Park Road and Sheridan Road, according to Chicago police.

An autopsy released Monday found he died from blunt trauma from a vehicle striking a pedestrian, and ruled his death accidental, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Buena Park.

The driver had the green light when he hit the man, and he was issued a citation for striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
