Bus passengers watch dead body fall from seat on roundabout as man dies on board

A man died on a bus as passengers could only watch in horror as his body slumped off his seat to the floor.

Eyewitnesses originally believed the pensioner had been sleeping on the Citylink service from Edinburgh to Glasgow.

However, they were left terrified after he fell lifelessly from his seat as the bus went around a roundabout.

It was only then they discovered the man had died and desperately alerted the driver, The Daily Record reported.

An eyewitness said: "The guy fell off his seat at a roundabout and that's when people realised something was wrong as they thought he had just been sleeping."

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at Swinton Roundabout in Baillieston, on Monday afternoon, but the 69-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesperson said: “Police were made aware of a 69-year-old man having taken unwell on a bus at the Swinton Roundabout, Baillieston, Glasgow, around 4.45pm on Monday, 17 October, 2022.

“Emergency services attended, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
