Man dies in tunnel crash, mum branded 'toxic' and suspect rams police car

Good afternoon, these are the latest Liverpool ECHO headlines this lunchtime.

Man dies after Queensway tunnel crash

The man, believed to be 23 years old, was driving a Audi S3 in the early hours of Sunday, October 17, when he crashed into a taxi.

His girlfriend who was a passenger in the car also died in the accident. She has since been named as 22-year-old, Paige Rice, from Birmingham.

The driver of the Audi S3 was described as being in a 'critical condition' for a number of days before he died in hospital.

It is believed that the Audi S3 was involved in another crash before the fatal crash in the tunnel.

The taxi driver, a man in his 40s, also suffered serious injuries but his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

A mum has expressed concern after her "entitled" daughter has moved back home and branded her "toxic".

The mum "didn't take too kindly" to being labelled "toxic" and sought advice on how best to handle the situation.

Taking to Mumsnet's popular Am I Being Unreasonable (AIBU) thread, the woman said she is "guilty of proper losing her rag" when her daughter "engages her in a row".

Suspected armed drug dealer rammed police car in bid to escape

Merseyside Roads Policing Unit posted on Twitter yesterday evening to say the vehicle had failed to stop for officers the night before.

During the pursuit, the driver rammed a pursuing police vehicle to make good his escape.

Patrols caught up with the vehicle the following day and another attempt to stop the car was made.

The driver again failed to stop and during the pursuit, struck a kerb and abandoned the vehicle.

Shortly after, the driver was arrested and found to be in possession of 103 wraps of Class A drugs and a knife.
