Man dies in trail bike crash

Police have launched an investigation after a man died in a trail bike crash near Cooma.

About 1.45pm on Saturday, three trail bikes were travelling along Wadbilliga Road, Tuross, east of Cooma, when one of the riders came off, about 2km from Tuross Road.

A second rider went to the man's aid, while a third left to seek assistance before an emergency beacon was activated, alerting emergency services.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the rider, a 58-year-old man, died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is under way.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
