Man dies in tragic motorbike crash on Leeds Outer Ring Road

A 56-year-old man has died after he was involved in a crash on the Leeds Outer Ring Road this morning (Tuesday).

He was driving his motorbike - an orange KTM 690 - shortly after 7am this morning when he was involved in a collision with a grey Skoda Fabia.

The crash happened in Moortown, close to the junction with Shadwell Lane, and officers arrived at the scene minutes after the call was placed.

However, paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Officers have spoken to the driver of the Skoda, who stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself or the movements of either vehicle in the time leading up to it, and anyone who was in the area and may have any relevant dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact MCET via 101 or via the online chat service by quoting log 290 of Tuesday, April 7.
