A man has died in 'suspicious' circumstances after a 'disturbance' in a Scots garden last night.
The 41-year-old died at the scene at Lingerwood Road, Newtongrange in Midlothian despite the best efforts of emergency crews.
Cops rushed to the area around 8.50pm with it understood that the area was locked down and helicopters circling the area.
Sources have claimed that the death was a result of an alleged knife attack.
Pictures from the scene today show that cops remain on the scene with a small garden taped off.

A 48-year-old man has been arrested by cops in connection with the death which they are treating as 'suspicious'.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "Around 8.50pm on Saturday 14 August, 2021, police received a report of a disturbance in a garden at Lingerwood Road, Newtongrange.
"Emergency services attended and a 41-year-old man died at the scene.
"A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
"The death is currently being treated as suspicious and enquiries are continuing."
Online reports also suggest that a park close to the street has been taped off amid a major emergency response as locals were urged to remain indoors late on Saturday night.
One person tweeted : "Six police vans three cars plain clothes police telling everyone to stay indoors now the police helicopter is circling about the street behind us.
"Nobody knows what’s going on."
Other residents said they were "quite frightened" as police descended on the street.
