In a statement released by West Yorkshire Police, they said: “At 12.04pm today (Thursday), police were notified by the ambulance service that a man was receiving medical assistance in Fleet Lane, Oulton.

The man was sadly pronounced deceased by paramedics a short time later. Enquiries are continuing at the scene, however the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”

A noticeable police presence was still in the area by 3pm, although road access is now unaffected.
