Man dies in Laurieston as police probe unexplained death

A man has died in Laurieston, with police having been called to the area shortly after 3pm this afternoon.

The force were alerted to concerns for a man near the junction of Bridge Street and Oxford Street in the area, near to the River Clyde.

The police have confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Officers have now launched an investigation into the 'unexplained' death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of concerns for a man near the junction of Bridge Street and Oxford Street in Glasgow around 3.10pm on Sunday, 4 October.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

"His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
