Man dies in house fire tragedy as gardai rush to scene in north Dublin

A man has died after a house fire in north Dublin on Wednesday.

The tragic incident happened in Cabra Park on the northside of the city at around 1.30pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the blaze after the alarm was raised, Dublin Live reports.

Dublin Fire Brigade were among those who attended the scene and extinguished the fire but despite the best efforts, the man lost his life and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area is currently being preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing at the Dublin 7 residence.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardai were called to the fire at the residence in Dublin 7 this afternoon, Wednesday 19th May 2021 at approximately 1.30pm."

"Dublin Fire Services also attended the scene and extinguished the fire."

"The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing."
