Man dies in hospital days after being hit by car on A467 near Nantyglo

A man has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Blaenau Gwent in the early hours of Monday morning, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to the  A467 near Nantyglo at 12.05am Monday, July 22, following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

The man, who has not been named by police, was critically injured. He was taken to hospital following the incident but has since died, a Gwent Police confirmed on Thursday.

The man's family are being supported by specialist officers and a police investigation is ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information that could help their inquiries with this incident to make contact with them.

Anyone who saw the collision happen is asked to call 101 quoting log number five of July 22 or to send a direct message to Gwent Police on Facebook or Twitter.

They are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the A467 in Nantyglo around the time of the incident to make contact with them.
