Man dies in horror two-car crash in East Lothian

A man has died in a horror two-car crash in East Lothian.

The 47-year-old was driving an Audi when he crashed into a black Ford Fiesta yesterday on the A198 near Dirleton yesterday afternoon.

An ambulance crew was sent to the scene but he passed away after the crash.

His family have been made aware of his death.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed between Station Road in Dirleton and North Berwick to allow for an investigation at the scene.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this sad time.

"We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

"This includes anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage which could help.

"Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1444 of 4 June."
