Emergency services were called to the scene on the A84 between Buchany and Callander, near Stirling, at around 6.35pm on Wednesday.

A 21-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after a silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Peugeot 3008 crashed.

Another man and his female passenger were taken to Forth Valley Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

The road was closed between Buchany and Callander for around seven hours to allow crash investigation work to be carried out.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Ruth Aitchison, Stirling's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or either vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.

“We are also asking locals and drivers to review their CCTV and dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting reference number 2813 of 22 July, 2020.
