Man dies in horror smash on Scots road as police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information following a horror crash in the Scottish Borders where one man tragically died.

The 27-year-old's silver Ford Fusion car left the A68, near St Boswells, when it was travelling southbound at around 8.15pm on Friday, February 4.

Emergency services raced to the scene, however the man was pronounced dead.

The road was closed for around seven hours while investigations were carried out.

It re-opened around at 3.40am today.

Cops are now appealing to anyone who may have any information.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are appealing to anyone who may have information that could help to get in touch.

“In particular we are asking for those driving in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch. If you have dash-cam footage that could assist then please contact us.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3311 of Friday, 4 February, 2022.
