Man dies in horror fall from balcony at East Kilbride flats

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances after a 58-year-old man plunged to his death from the balcony of flats in East Kilbride.

Officers raced to Saskatoon Place in Westwood shortly before 4.30am on Friday.

It is understood he fell from the top floor of the flats and police confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was taped off with emergency services at the scene of the tragedy.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers in East Kilbride received a report of a man having fallen from a balcony on Saskatoon Place around 4.25am on Friday, July 23.

“Emergency services attended the 58-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
